Anthropologie's Luminous Boots by Miss Albright and my OOTD

Happy Thursday my Lovelies! I hope this Thursday evening finds you all well.

One more day to the weekend! Yaaaay!!! And 2 weeks today, I would have already arrived in Orlando and enjoying the warm Florida weather! Double Yay!!

2 weeks to our trip and I hav about a million things to do. The thought of it alone scares the wits out of me. I know that if I put my mind to it, I can get everything done. Problem is, I'm having difficulty putting my mind to it.

Okay. Enough about stressing myself out. I wanted to share one of my latest purchases with you.

Anthropologie's Miss Albright Luminous Boots.

So, what do you think of them? Pretty bright, huh???

I just can't seem to decide if I should keep them or not. They are so very unique yet so difficult to wear. With the exception of this Anna Sui, Cascading Foilage Dress, I honestly have nothing that would go with it.

Okay, I mean, it certainly goes with Black. Everything goes with Black. But with the Black, it's pretty LOUD! Only because it screams "LOOK AT ME! JUST LOOK AT MY SHINY AUSTIN POWER BOOTS!"

I just don't know if I can pull that off. I've had these boots for 3 weeks and they've been sitting in the box and I finally decided that I would take a picture of them and ask my awesome readers for their opinion. So, what do you think?

Would you wear them?

Don't they look almost like fabric? They're actually leather. Very metallic leather ... so metallickie that it looks like it's either Rain gear or made of nylon.

Long story short, I got them because they were an amazing deal. These boots were $258 regularly and I picked them up for $79.95. A steal, isn't it? I guess it's only a steal if I'm actually in love with them. If I'm not, I guess it's like owning a White Elephant. In this case, a very metallic White Elephant pair of boots that I'd likely not wear.

But hey, maybe someone can talk some sense into me as to why I must keep these boots.

So, be sure to give me your opinion.

Okay. On to my outfit of the day.

Here's what I wore to work.

Sweater: J Crew
Dress: Anna Sui Cascading Foilage Dress from Anthropologie
Necklace: My design
Tights: Calvin Klein
Shoes: Connie Mary Janes

I know you've seen these shoes already but I love these shoes. I know, I know, I seem to be in-love with every pair of shoes I own so let's clarify by saying, as far as cognac shoes are concerned, I LOVE these shoes. I love that they look vintagey. I also love the little cutouts on top of the toes. I love the fact that they are Mary Jane style. I love the wooden heel. I love the fact that they were under $30 for a pair of pretty leather shoes.

I just LOVE these shoes!
I love them sooooo much that I'm looking for them in an ivory / cream shade. I know that they came in this colorway last summer. Unfortunately, when I found out about them, they had already sold out. I also know that there are a few shoe fanatics amongst my amazing readers. So if any of you happen to stumble upon a pair of cream colored Connie Mary Jane in the same style, would you kindly let me know? I desperately want them!

I also wanted to thank each of you for reading my blog. It's having readers like you that keep me writing. So, thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Well, that's it for me this evening. From my home to yours, wishing you a very lovely evening and a Fantabulous Friday!
Good Night!

Love the dress. I have it too but haven't had the chance to wear it yet. The gold boots are not really my style. If you can't figure out what to wear with them, I say return them. Something else will come along =)

LOL at the NASA comment!

P.S. If you really loved them, they wouldn't have been sitting in your closet for 3 weeks. I am guilty of buying something because it was "such a great deal!" I have the J.Crew berry astrid jacket unworn - since last year!

Boy, they are shiny....:)
The OOTD looks so much sharper with MJs. I don't even know what I'd wear with the boots. I have few of similar myself, they are a delight to look at and do not get worn as I can't figure out how and when. At some point I think I'd have to frame them too get some use at least, lol!:)

Totally off topic but I remember reading that you were in search of the Tick Tock Cardigan. There are currently a small at this url...http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Anthropologie-TICK-TOCK-CARDIGAN-Field-Flower-SML_W0QQitemZ300390723903QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_CSA_WC_Sweaters?hash=item45f0aeb13f

Sorry if I'm off on the size, but you look like a Small.

The boots are cute... if they were rain boots I'd say keep because I see lots of people in funky rain boots regardless of their outfit... but since they're leather and you don't have a lot to wear them with, I'd say return. love your outfit!

Ok, I really starting to think you're my long lost Canadian twin. (I'm J.Crew-er turned Anthro-nut, I heart me a good sale, scored the Inverness trench on sale same time as you did....etc, etc.)

I, too, grabbed these boots because they were 'such a deal'! Mine are still en route...but I was secretly hoping to find them more muted in real life than others said they were. Hmmm....we shall see what happens when they show up....

Another part of me is just hoping I can rock 'em anyway. I'm a little late to the tall boot party - I live in SoCal, nobody here really NEEDS boots for any legitimate reason - and part of me thinks if I'm gonna do the riding boot, I might as well go 'all in.' :)

Let us know what you decide!

I bought the cascading foliage dress on major sale as well (and loved at full price, but held off!), and I still have not worn it because I didn't know how to winterize - you're outfit looks adorable, and I can't wait to replicate. Thanks for the inspiration ;)

Gorgeous OOTD! The boots are adorable, but if they aren't wearable to work or in everyday life...sometimes I guess you have to say 'meh'.

CK, your comment made me laugh out loud! You had me almost spit out my wine!

Green Dino, I'm certain that we were separated at birth! You have the dress too???!! Too cool! Yeah, I've got to ditch the boots. They're also not my style. And yes, you're 100% right. If I loved them, I would have worn them sooner. Hey, what color is your Astrid Berry Jacket? I have it in the Blue and the Purple and I've only worn them each 2x. Sad!

Slastena, they are bright, aren't they. I bet they would glow in a club! lol!

Thanks JenLynn for telling me about the Tick Tock Cardi. Unfortuantely I lost that auction. Oh well. That was super sweet of you to tell me. I guess others are more in need of it than I. But thanks though. I truly appreciate it!

Cate, I'm with you. They are going back.

Patti, please do come back and let me know what you think about your boots. I'm certain that you, me and Green Dino were all separated at birth by the Anthro Gods. lol! Have you worn your Inverness Trench yet? It's not warm enough for me to wear it yet but I can't wait to though! I wish Spring would hurry on up!!!

Hi Emily, you're welcome. I get a lot of inspiration from the girls here as well as from other blogs. I'm glad that we're all able to inspire each other. I'm going to go check out your blog by the way. :)

Post Fab Princess, I'm with you. They're just meh! And I don't like owning anything meh, so they're going back!

Thanks everyone for your wonderful input. I am very appreciative and because of your comments, these boots are 100% going back to the moon... sorry, anthro. lol!

So I received my Luminous Boots yesterday....um....yeah...

I knew from the moment I opened the box that they were going back. They're just....SO...shiny! I'm all for jumping on unexpected items at this stage in my wardrobe life - as I approach 30 very rapidly, one of my goals is to throw my fashion caution to the wind! - but this was TOO over the edge for me.

Really, the kicker for me was that the super shiny-ness seem to detract from the quality of the boot. From a distance, I felt they looked cheap - like something one would pick up at the 9.99 shoe store :(

I did find them really comfortable, though.

On the the Inverness Trench - I'm in Southern California, so it's certainly warm enough to wear it here - and boy, have I! It's been my go-to coat this winter. My favorite way to wear it is over a skirt/dress with tights & heels - I feel sort of 40s glam :) I was worried the skirt would look awful after sitting on it while driving, but it seems decently wrinkle resistant. It's one of my very favorite anthro purchases. Hope you can wear yours very soon!

Hi Dea! Welcome to my Blog. I love hearing about my reader's Anthro obsessions as well. I hope you'll share your experiences! Welcome once again!

Hi Patti, Sorry for being MIA of late. Craziness is all around me - or maybe it's me who's crazy! Hmmmm.. I'm just not sure which is which right now. lol!

The Luminous Boots are comfy aren't they but like yourself, I cannot get over how bright and shiny they are .... to the point of almost being painful to the eye! So what have you decided? Are they a keeper or a return?

They are certain without a doubt a return for me. BUT... did you see my newest purchase???? The Winding Ruffle Boots! Those are to die for!!! And those are a keeper! Did you get a pair of these Winding Ruffle Boots?

I like the way you've worn your Inverness Trench. I cannot wait to wear it that way as well! I think the weather ought to warm up by the time we return from Orlando. I will be sure to take pictures and post them.

Well, after a few Austin Powers joke from my hubby, the boots went back...which meant I just HAD to scope out the sale section...possibly at 2 different Anthro's...I cannot confirm or deny.... ;)

I did so well on sale, though! The return of the boots, plus price adjustments to my recently purchased a) Laced Roses Cardi, and b) Always a Lady skirt yielded:
Eastlake Top in grey, to be paired with...(among other things..)
A stray Four If By Sea skirt I found lurking in the sale section...
A Soft Drapes blouse, marked down to $20 (!!!)
Aztec Belt, marked down to $5 (!!!)
Black lacy Ruffian tights, marked down to $5 (!!!)
AND - my full price splurge - a necklace I can't find on the website (but it's the one Roxy is doing the give away for at Effortless Anthro.)

As for you - I'm SO JEALOUS you snagged the winding ruffles boots! I really need to cool it with my shopping plastic, so I've refrained from even starting the hunt for those. Sigh.

Any other good sale finds for you this week?
